When Claudio Sadler and chef Giorgio Pignagnoli joined forces for the opening of the Baglioni Resort Sardinia in June, their ambition was to produce a light, Mediterranean-style cuisine at the restaurant, Gusto By Sadler.
Little did they know that just six months later the restaurant would be awarded a Michelin star, the world’s highest recognition.
Claudio, pictured top of page, and Giorgio use local ingredients, typical of the regional cuisine which enhances their dishes, stating them to be “works of edible art”. The menu includes specialities such as Lorighitta pasta with Sardinian lamb ragù, aubergines, mint and pecorino.
The award confirms the success of the partnership between Sadler and his team, a byword for culinary excellence around the world.
Guido Polito, CEO Baglioni Hotels & Resorts, congratulated Sadler, CPignagnoli and Sous Chef Gennaro Balice, who will soon take charge of the Canova by Sadler restaurant at the Baglioni Hotel Luna in Venice.
The Baglioni Resort Sardinia opened on 1 June just north of San Teodoro on beautiful Lu Impostu beach.
