Hotels of America – Day 1
From glamping in the Catskills, to songwriting in Nashville, a culinary hotel in Washington D.C. and an authentic Seattle hideaway, to the good old fashioned bright lights of New York City – some hotels step outside of the norm for American vacationing.
And this week HotelView will be highlighting six properties that are worth consideration when making your holiday plans.
We begin today with Eastwind Hotel & Bar in Windham, New York State
TRAVEL to the Catskill Mountains in southeastern New York State and experience the breathtaking upstate landscape and all Windham Mountain has to offer at the cosy and chic Eastwind hideaway.
The property offers 19 accommodations including three wooden A-frame structures called Lushnas, which are ideal for those seeking an upscale “glamping” experience.

Eastwind, top of page, offers morning yoga, foraging walks, outdoor bbqs, weekly concerts under the stars, and can outfit guests with binoculars and bicycles to explore nearby trails.
After a long day hiking Windham Mountain, guests can unwind in the hotel’s charming salon, outfitted with a full bar and craft cocktail menu, or relax in the wood-barrel sauna.
The hotel was opened in 2018 when group of friends who had known each other through long-standing careers in the hospitality, fashion, and food and beverage industries joined forces. Their ambition was to create a special place to bring together friends and families, make new memories and escape the city.
“We all fell in love with the Catskills in different ways, but our goal and vision were the same — create a unique Scandinavian home away from home getaway experience”
In partnership with LINE by trailways, guests can take one of LINE’s luxury buses which offer direct service from Manhattan to Eastwind’s front step.
Rates start at $219 per night.
Tomorrow: Hutton Hotel in Nashville, Tennessee
