The historic Baglioni Hotel Luna in Venice is reopening in September in time for the celebrated Film Festival following a six-month refurbishment.
Ideally located at the very heart of the Serenissima, just steps from St Mark’s Square and the Palazzo Ducale, the hotel, which dates back to the 12th century, has been upgraded from top to toe.

Adorned with frescoes by pupils of Giambattista Tiepolo, the Baglioni’s 92 rooms and suites have been re-decorated in classically elegant Italian style with some featuring large private terraces with magnificent views of the lagoon and San Girogio Island.
Its award-winning restaurant, Canova, comes from the Baglioni’s executive chef, Alberto Rossetti. Be sure to try the lamb with raspberries, and put it with a bottle of Palazzo della Torre.
The wine list is a particular strength, as are the puddings.
