Follow in the footsteps of Churchill and Chaplin as French Riviera’s iconic Club Dauphin reopens with fresh, sophisticated look

During its lifetime the Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat, top of page, has welcomed a string of celebrity guests including Winston Churchill, Charlie Chaplin and Elizabeth Taylor.

Its stylish beach club, Club Dauphin, has been an iconic institution on the French Riviera since the 1930s, immersed in the lush landscape of the Cap Ferrat peninsula.

And now it has reopened with a fresh, sophisticated look following five months of extensive renovations undertaken by its owners, Four Seasons Hotels.

“We are thrilled to announce the re-opening of Club Dauphin, with its new breezy Mediterranean look and revised poolside menu with lunchtime dishes that make the most of the Riviera’s seasonal produce,” exclaims General Manager François-Régis Simon.

The Club’s famous 33m heated swimming pool has been tiled with Italian verrazzo stone to create a natural rugged look that seamlessly blends in with the surrounding landscape, while the Club’s cabanas have been entirely renovated to offer guests total relaxation and complete privacy.

“We wanted to keep the soul and spirit of our previous cabanas,” explains Mr Simon. “Our clients were attached to the Club’s iconic cabanas so we decided to maintain their simple design while increasing their comfort level and adding facilities to enhance guests’ overall experience.”

The 19 stylish cabanas are dotted around the Club’s lush grounds, each equipped with sunbeds, mini bar with bespoke drinks cabinet, integrated safe, power sockets and USB ports.

Tailor-made furnishings in soft earthy tones blend in with the surrounding landscape, with upholstered teal chairs recalling the warm blues of the Mediterranean, and teakwood furniture echoing Cap Ferrat’s wild rocky scrubland.

The cabanas come in three different sizes, accommodating two, four or six people. All offer wonderful sea views, with some also looking out onto the Club’s pool area.

A gate within the Club grounds offers access to the coastal pathway, allowing guests to explore the area while taking in some of the most beautiful panoramas in the south of France.

Guests can make the most of Club Dauphin’s facilities, including its heated seawater infinity pool overlooking the Mediterranean and its renowned restaurant with menus overseen by Michelin-starred Chef Yoric Tièche.

Chef Vincent Ghiglione prepares international and Mediterranean dishes with Japanese and South American influences, creating light and refreshing options that are perfect to enjoy on hot summer days, from sushi and marinated fish crudos to lobster rolls and grilled lamb pittas.

An extensive beverage list completes the offer, with homemade smoothies and freshly squeezed juices alongside creative cocktails prepared with aromatic herbs freshly picked from the Hotel garden.

Club Dauphin dining area

The beach club’s Dauphin Lounge has its own bar and dining table for entertaining friends and family

Guests booking the exclusive Dauphin Lounge have their own private bar where a designated mixologist shakes up bespoke drinks. A butler is also on hand to meet guests’ needs and requirements. The Cabana is equipped with a dining table to allow guests to enjoy a convivial sitdown meal with family or close friends.

For the ultimate dining experience, couples can book a table in one of the Club’s most exclusive cabanas, where they can enjoy a gourmet dinner in complete privacy facing the sea.

Located at the tip of Cap Ferrat, the Cabana has one of the most romantic settings of the entire coastline. Flower arrangements and candles add to the ambience.

Cabanas are available for Hotel and external guests and can be rented out on a daily, weekly, monthly or seasonal basis.

For guests to make the most of the French Riviera and its legendary Hotel and Club Dauphin, the team of the Grand-Hôtel have created two offers: Summer Getaway with15% off accommodation, and Mediterranean Getaway at Club Dauphin including accommodation, breakfast and a poolside lunch at Club Dauphin.
