Bournemouth’s West Cliff spa hotel has emerged from a major £1.4m makeover that has transformed its reception, bar, lounge, restaurant and indoor swimming pool.
And, following a buy-out by membership club Boundless, the refurbishments are just for starters.
A new look for the spa area, refurbishment of its 83 rooms and further enhancements to the reception area are also in the pipeline.

The hotel’s bedooms provide free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, and tea and coffee-making
Says general manager Tony Giauna: “We are delighted to reveal the fruits of our labour over the last year as we continue to transform The West Cliff into an affordable oasis of calm in central sunny Bournemouth.
“With easy access to the beach and town centre, our guests can enjoy the local area but return to a tranquil setting complete with brand new leisure facilities.
“There aren’t many hotels in the area that can boast two swimming pools, a spa and gym as well as a relaxing conservatory and garden – and that makes it a hidden gem.
“When we took over, we knew there was work required to meet customer expectations and we’re committed to making the West Cliff Hotel the best it can possibly be.”
The newly refurbished restaurant offers a small seasonal menu with tasty dishes including traditional British fare such as fish and chips to more European flavours including pasta and salads with couscous, lentils and roasted vegetables.
Sunday brunch at the West Cliff has become a popular option for locals and hotel guests alike, with a three-course menu plus a glass of prosecco for the grownups or milkshake for children.

The new look bar is keeping ahead of the drinks trend
Staying ahead of drinks trends, not only does the new-look bar include a cocktail menu complete with “nitro” espresso martinis, but it also boasts a gin menu which will soon come with a pairing device to advise customers which Fever Tree tonic best accompanies their gin of choice.
The hotel is a pleasurable stroll from, both the Bournemouth International Centre and the Oceanarium.
Rooms provide free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, and tea and coffee-making facilities. Upgraded rooms also feature desks, sofas and/or patios.
Prices start from £77 for a standard double room.
