Stoke Park country club in Buckinghamshire is celebrating becoming the first 5 Star hotel in the UK to have padel courts and helping to boost the racquet sport’s popularity.
Introduced to the UK in 1992, padel has been played for more than 100 years and has become a sporting phenomenon throughout many Hispanic nations including Spain, Mexico and Argentina.
The addition of the padel courts to its award-winning sports facilities also establishes the 5 AA Red Star Country Club, Spa and Hotel as the only club in Buckinghamshire, Berkshire and Oxfordshire to have them.
Stoke Park’s tennis members will have access to the padel courts, as will guests staying in the hotel.

“We currently have 55 padel courts in the UK, and now with these two additional courts at Stoke Park, it really is helping the popularity of the sport.”
Chester King, chief executive of Stoke Park, adds: “We are very excited to be adding Padel to our Health and Racquet facilities at Stoke Park, which also include 13 tennis courts (6 Wimbledon Spec Grass, 3 Indoor and 4 Floodlit Artificial Clay).
